Bread & Butter Barcelona

Recently we visited the seventh 'Bread & Butter' trade show in Barcelona.
The little pool in the open area was the place to be. Especially when the tempature in the Sports and Street hall was up to 35 degrees ! Yep, the airco was broke...

Converse celabrates this year its centennial anniversary, so they had to go big. There entrance was an impressive wall of speakers and big screens.

Once again Reebok had the topspot in the Sport and Street Hall. Besides the amazing spring 2009 preview, there was a lot of stuff to see; a beatbox kid, artists who were customising sneakers, new John Maeda creations and some rare Reebok sneakers.

The Reebok Court Victory Pump x Alife called "The Ball Out" from 2006 is fabricated by hand entirely out of tennis ball felt. The yellow version is limited to 48 pieces worldwide ! One of the most sought after kicks.

WAD magazine had these funny characters standing on their counter. These would look great in our garden.

In town we went to the opening of Gary Baseman's new show called "Knowledge Comes With Gas Release" at the Iguapop Gallery.
A bit further up the street we visited the "Bloody Writers" exhibition at the Montana Shop & Gallery featuring international writers and tattoo artists.
If you are in Barcelona, check it out, they are both worth a visit.

Our trip wouldn't be complete if we didn't check out the 24 Kilates- and Trust Nobody store. Barcelona's best sneakershops. At Trust Nobody a big elephant (painted in the now overused 'elephant skin' on sneakers) was standing at the entrance. Nice !
At the shop we were lucky enough to score one of the most awaited sneakers of the year, the second version of the Sneaker Freaker x Puma project . The SNKR FRKR Puma Blaze Of Glory also named  'the black beast' got released that day. Woohoo !

Adios Barcelona... till January !
